Back when Pip and Tom started out, the Farm Cafe did just 1 or 2 weddings a year (including Pip and Tom’s!). Over time, we realised that being involved in weddings is an incredibly special privilege. It's also really fun and gives us a great reason to cook up some amazing feasts!
So last wedding season we embarked on our most ambitious project yet - to begin changing the wedding business from the inside out. To each wedding we brought a wholehearted focus on being upfront and transparent, and forging trusting and creative relationships with our couples, and we reckon it was definitely a success.
We want to extend a big, fuzzy thank you to all our wonderful couples, you made our hearts sing! And a special thanks needs to go to the father of the groom at last week's wedding. It takes something a little special to bring a tear to the eye of the most seasoned wedding planner, and his rendition of Waltzing Matilda on the bagpipes definitely did.
Cheers to all of you and we look forward to seeing what joy next season brings. Check out the reel below for all the highlights of this season!
One of our philosophies is that food is the centre of every good celebration, so we make sure that we have chefs that rock and graze tables that are plentiful and hearty. Below are some of our all time favourite set ups.
We’re also crazy about making sure the rest of the celebration is as gorgeous as the food. We love to throw ourselves into styling and setting up the event, and have gotten pretty excellent at it!
We’ve created heaps of amazing weddings at the Collingwood Children’s Farm, but we’ve also loved inhabiting some of the many gems that Melbourne has to offer, including the Melba Spiegeltent, Mountain Goat Brewery and loads more. Our experience working on the farm has stood us in good stead - setting up mobile kitchens, moving furniture in (and out), and transforming a bare space into something inspired and unique. All in a day's work!
Weddings have become some of the most rewarding work that we do. Helping to create such an important moment in two people’s lives is absolutely incredible, and we love having such a big role in making it as heartfelt and joyful as can be -even the farm kitty thinks it’s pretty great.
