Little Eats reviews the Farm Cafe

Monday, March 01, 2010
A great new site reviewing Kid friendly cafe's has popped up recently. It is called Little Eats and it provides 'a quick and easy guide to kid-friendly Melbourne cafes and the services they provide – highchairs, change tables, easy pram access, separate kids menus, the kid-friendliness of the staff, play areas, activities or toys provided, as well as prices and the overall atmosphere of the place.'

Having a 15 month old daughter and loving cafe's as we do it has proven to be a fabulous resource to find Melbourne's great kid friendly cafe's and to avoid the one's that make you feel like your the devil for having a pram!

Of course, they have also reviewed the Farm Cafe. You can see the full review here

Summer Guide - Eat Out

Sunday, December 13, 2009
Exciting to see The Farm Cafe listed as one of Larissa's Dubecki's "Summery Dining Destinations" in this month's addition of The Age Melbourne Magazine

"Deep inside the urban jungle hides this bucolic escape by the river, the perfect place to let the kids run wild while the adults decamp to the outdoor seating at the Farm Cafe for a coffee (3.5) and poached eggs (8.5) or lunchtime things such as zucchini, mint & fetta fritters (14.5).  Plenty of the food comes from nearby garden beds and it's reliably good"

We may just have to check out the other foodie places that made the list too......

Springy goodness!

Friday, September 11, 2009
Spring has announced itself with a blast of warm air from the North. There's nothing like being out in the elements to truly feel this abundant and exciting season arrive. Sweet scents of springy flowers (daffodils- my favourite!) and some tasty zucchini, mint & fetta fritters with a good squeeze of lemon - a delicious way to spend a slightly wild Farmer's Market morning.

More info... Farmer's Markets happen at the Farm on the second Saturday of every month. Click here to see the Melbourne Farmer's Market website, or join our email list and we'll send you a reminder!

The little kitchen that could...

Wednesday, August 19, 2009
After 4 years of hammering away with a fairly outdated kitchen , we are finally going to put in some proper beefy commercial equipment. This will mean faster, yummier, and more home made food that ever before.

We're excited, but to do this we need to close our Kitchen for just 5 days from Monday the 31st of August to Friday the 4th of September. We will be open for coffee and cake, but given the kitchen will be in pieces we wont have the usual full Farm Cafe menu.

As the Tradies work through the night to put the kitchen together, our Kitchen crew will be busy putting the final touches on our Spring Menu.

Join our email list or check back here in a couple of weeks to be the first to see it.
